Hurricane Florence has caused thousands of units of blood and platelet products to go uncollected as blood drives were canceled in the storm’s wake. Ahead of the storm, the Red Cross sent additional blood products to areas of the Southeast, to ensure patient needs can be met.

But this leaves a gap for other parts of the country. So, your donation is absolutely needed now – the critical need for blood products continues. 

The Red Cross is asking partners like EMS to meet or exceed their blood drive goal, to help make up for donation cancellations in areas impacted by the storm.
