Artificial Intelligence (AI) is gaining salience in the patient simulation field. It has the potential to digitally represent patients, assist in writing scenarios, and assess clinical reason and communication skills through Natural Language Processing.
This interactive webinar will explore the continuing evolution of patient simulation, and the use of AI as the latest “peripheral brain” that can aggregate and sort through vast amounts of information. It will also provide a demonstration of how to “talk” to AI and use it as a virtual assistant when creating SP cases, scenarios, and graphics. Dr. Errichetti will also discuss the importance of human oversight when using AI.
Tony Errichetti, PhD, MA is a narrative medicine practitioner through Columbia University’s virtual group sessions and the Simulationist Narrative Medicine Community, Director of Programming at Narrative Mindworks, and a consultant for Doctor-Patient Communication Assessment at the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners

Practical, appreciated the presentation style of his experiences but also a lens of best practice and application ideas, trial & error. Thank you for sharing the presenter’s experience
The topic of AI is interesting to me and the covered information was very helpful. I have an idea as to how to start testing out/working with AI now. I liked how he walked us through the AI journey and how the AI was able to point out its own biases.
It gave me more of a structure for how to use AI well. Very important to my practice and gives me ideas regarding what specific questions to be asked to the AI. How he gave what prompt he used for AI and some aspects of cultural diversity that need to be explored.
It is a new topic and one we desperately as a health care system need to talk about!
Excellent overview with presenter examples of real life AI questions in generating the scenarios. It provided information on implicit bias that I had not thought about previously.
Everything, the view and presentation of the speaker were both engaging and educational. Gave me another way of ensuring my students will get the most out of their education by me being able to increase their knowledge and diversity of the patients.
