Unfolding Simulations – an Innovative Model

Both the moderator and the guest speakers were fabulous. This was a beautiful presentation of an incredibly worthwhile endeavor. I would love to see this entire program replicated nationwide and have all nursing students participate. Well done! I love it. I am so very glad to see such fine and dedicated folks working to make our healthcare delivery better and better!
Identifying the use of cameras with education. I am working in small simulation and cameras are being added for the students not in simulation. I currently did not see how the benefit would come to those watching – with an instructor in the room, I see how the difference is made.
The question and answer time provided clarity on implementation! I did like their solution because you’re right- you don’t always see the end result of the code that happened on your floor or the critical finding that may lead the patient to the ICU or reverse- you don’t see the warning signs leading up the placement of the ICU. I would love to hear how they incorporate unfolding scenarios into say second semester students.
Such an innovative way to run Sims! New Ideas about how to best use our Simulation space. Really appreciate the enthusiasm and attempt at something different to meet learner needs in nursing. It sparked some ideas for me. Excellent conversation post-presentation as well.
