Prebriefing is known as the introductory phase in nursing simulation recognized as a key factor in students learning experience, however, the practice of prebriefing varies widely related to structured components and elements, making it difficult to understand what methods best prepare students for the simulation scenario. Understanding factors regarding pedagogical aspects of the different structures and elements of prebriefing’s contribution to the simulation experience, may provide scaffolding for prebriefing design. Results from a hermeneutic phenomenological approach to explore students prebriefing experience during a novel, pedagogically sound, eight-week senior simulation clinical course and the themes revealed will be discussed.

I understand the value of pre-briefing and agree I would rather be cared for by a nurse who can think through a problem than just perform the right task.
This was a topic I had not given much thought to before but now I see how it could really enhance student learning. I liked the specific outcomes / action items and the quotes from the students. It was great to see them recognizing the value of pre-briefing.
Thanks for a great presentation.
The idea that prebriefing was preparing to work and helping students develop metacognition. Looking at prebriefing from a different perspective. Haven’t really thought about it in the ways she did. Thank you for the research.
I really enjoyed the session. The webinar was not only insightful but also directly applicable to the classroom. It was great to see such an emphasis on making learning more interactive and student-centered.
Especially the pre-briefing board image was very powerful and encouraging as students worked and thought through a scenario. Thank you for the research!
